The theme i chose was friendship. "tom sent a boy to run about town with a blazing stick, which he called a slogan(which was the sign for the gang to get together)" meaning that whenever a boy running around with a blazing stick is a sign for the group of friends they call the gang to get together.(ch.3,p.9,par.3)
The quote is saying that they have a certain way to get everybody attention and everybody knows when the boy r
uns threw the town with a blazing stick that means get together. I think its a good idea, its way easier and more organized to have one specific way to get everyone attention then to just go around and tell everyone to get together. Me and my friends, we have a certain way of talking and doing things and they they call there selves the gang me n my friends call are group something to.
